FEBC acted as
Ian Schrager Hotels Client’s representative in the UK, performing
Project and Cost Management services as well as their financial
accounting including liaison with the consortium of funding banks.
The scheme
included the Alain Ducasse-run Spoon+ restaurant.
The
project consisted of the conversion of a grade 2 listed former furniture
showroom into a 153 bedroom luxury hotel.
The
bathrooms all had glass walls to give the bedrooms the feeling of
greater space. The hotel also included a luxurious spa and health
facility, gymnasium, conference facilities, a restaurant (Spoon +) and
two bars (The Long Bar & the Purple Bar).
The listed building features had to be incorporated
into the new design and approvals obtained from English Heritage.
