  Description

Petrol retail experience

FEBC has worked on multi site and single one-off petrol retail station projects in the United Kingdom and overseas. We have worked with Total Oil on a multi site re-imaging programme throughout the United Kingdom, Emarat Oil on a multi site re-branding and new construction roll out programme in the United Arab Emirates and West Indies Oil Company on a one-off new image new build petrol station in Antigua.

·  Total Oil

FEBC Limited performed the project management services on the re-imaging of approximately 450 petrol stations throughout the United Kingdom. The roll out programme was quite aggressive with on average between 6 to 8 stations commencing re-imaging each week, depending upon the size and extent of the works. Therefore the overlap of sites starting, sites under re-imaging and sites completed had to be carefully co-ordinated and managed.

FEBC compiled the roll out programme that had to be agreed and co-ordinated with the metalwork manufacturer based in France, the signage supplier and small works contractor both based in the UK.

FEBC were responsible for visiting all the sites to supervise elements of the work and to inspect the completed works after the contractor had handed the site over as complete. FEBC drew up defects lists for each of the stations and established defects rectification timetable and final inspection and approval.

FEBC also approved the payments for the works undertaken and materials supplied by the minor works contractor, metalwork manufacturer and signage supplier.

·   Emarat Oil

FEBC was appointed by EGPC (Emirate Generate Petrol Company) to perform the design and manage roll for the redevelopment of new and existing station sites incorporating their new corporate brand.

The assignment was for a roll out programme of 14 sites in the United Arab Emirate essentially concentrated in the emirates of Dubai and Sharjah.

On one site a mosque was part of the site facilities along with the shop, car wash etc.

FEBC subcontracted the design function to WS Atkins who are based in Dubai however the construction supervision and contract administration was performed by us. We employed three local engineers to carry out the construction supervision.

FEBC managed and co-ordinated the interface of the various contractors and specialist suppliers and installers on each of the petrol station sites.

We were responsible for performing the quantity surveying duties in valuing the works as they progress, issuing valuation recommendations to the client, agreeing variations and agreeing final accounts for all the contractors and suppliers.

The roll out programme for carrying out and completing the works was approximately 30 months.
